FRP reinforcement for a terrace

Glass-fibre mesh on an outdoor terrace: light enough to place by hand, set on chairs before the pour, and free of rust where the slab stays wet.

This terrace was reinforced with glass-fibre mesh from Fibr Factory, in place of steel. The net sits on plastic chairs over the prepared base, ready for the concrete.

An outdoor terrace stays wet. Rain, standing water and frost sit on the slab for years. Steel rusts where the cover is thin, and the stains come through the finished surface. Glass fibre does not corrode, so the reinforcement does not become a rust point under the terrace.

The mesh is light enough to carry and place by hand. On a terrace the nets go down without a crane or a large crew, and they can be lined up along the formwork and the facade without dragging a heavy grid across the base.

The chairs keep the mesh at the right height in the slab. Once it is down, you can walk the net to check the overlaps and the alignment before the pour.

Lightweight. Corrosion-free. Built for a terrace that stays outside.
