FRP mesh for a residential floor slab
Glass-fibre mesh on a house floor: light to place, kinder to the walls, and less prone to cracking than a heavy steel mat.
This residential floor is reinforced with Fibr Factory glass-fibre mesh instead of steel. The net sits on spacers above the vapour barrier, with a blue edge strip along the brick walls, ready for the pour.
On a house slab, a heavy steel mat is hard to place and easy to drag against finished or unfinished walls. Glass-fibre mesh is light enough to roll out by hand, so crews keep clear of the masonry and reduce the risk of wall damage.
The mesh stays on spacers at the right height in the slab. Combined with the perimeter edge strip, the floor can move a little without pushing hard into the walls — which lowers the chance of cracking at the edges and in the plate.
Before the pour you can walk the floor, check overlaps and see that the whole surface is covered. Simple placement, less risk to the walls, less chance of cracking.
Light to place. Kinder to the walls. Built for the residential slab.
